Training Registration

All trainings are co-facilitated by an experienced community health worker (CHW) and a content expert, and include activities, role-plays, group work, discussion, and didactic learning. Trainings are available in-person and virtually. Virtual trainings are delivered through a combination of live, interactive Zoom sessions and independent self-study. Behavioral Health

CROWD’s comprehensive behavioral health training covers mental health basics, cultural humility with LGBTQIA individuals, and essential skills such as street outreach, motivational interviewing, and case management. It also addresses anxiety, distress, and depression management, alongside overdose prevention, life skills, self-care practices, and trauma resiliency, equipping participants with the necessary tools to support individuals effectively.

CHW Core Skills

The comprehensive CHW core skills training is a universal curriculum that prepares trainees for successful CHW careers. The curriculum is based on the nationally recognized CHW Core Consensus Project (C3) recommendations. This training is appropriate for CHW interventions delivered in a variety of settings (e.g., health system, community-based organization, clinic), providing a range of services (e.g., home visiting, health education, navigation), and focusing on various health topics (e.g., asthma, behavioral health, breast health, diabetes, social determinants of health). Modules include introduction to community health, collaborating with medical professionals, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), goal setting, motivational interviewing, and many more.

Lunch and Learns are professional development sessions designed to provide Community Health Workers (CHWs) with ongoing education, peer support, and practical tools—all in a convenient lunchtime format. These sessions combine nourishment and knowledge, making them accessible opportunities for CHWs to strengthen their skills while fostering community connections.

Maternal and Child Health

CROWD’s Maternal Child Health training equips Community Health Workers with the essential skills to support expectant, birthing, and new parents. The training includes strategies for promoting healthy pregnancies, the CHW’s role across the childbirth continuum, including SDoH screening, support, and referrals, guidance for assisting perinatal grief, best practices for educating and supporting birthing companions, and key resources that foster healthy early childhood development.

Prevention & Management of Chronic Conditions

CHWs learn the basics of chronic diseases including asthma, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, and hypertension. In this 16-hour training, CHWs are equipped with foundational knowledge to support clients in their wellness journey, including care management planning, self-advocacy skills, and navigation services to ensure they receive appropriate and timely care.

Supervisor

CHW Supervisor

CHWs preparing for a supervisory role will benefit from this professional development program. The curriculum meets the needs of those with CHW experience and individuals new to the CHW workforce. Topics include role and areas of responsibility, leadership and team building, motivational interviewing, goal setting, conflict resolution, and project management.
